This recognition is a testament to Kieran’s dedication, skill, and passion for engineering, as well as a reflection of the high-quality training and support provided by both Spectra Packaging and East Coast College. Indeed, it’s also worth mentioning Bill Allen, Kieran’s mentor, who played a significant role in Kieran’s success.
Kieran is currently enrolled in the EAL Level 3 Diploma in Machining, a four-year program designed to equip apprentices with the essential skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in engineering. Having been an apprentice at Spectra Packaging for just a year, Kieran has already made a significant impact. Kieran has demonstrated exceptional aptitude and enthusiasm, consistently excelling in both his academic and practical work.
Darren Davies, Tool Room Manager at Spectra Packaging, praised Kieran’s achievements:
“Kieran has integrated well with his colleagues in the toolroom, displaying politeness and a clear understanding of his role as an apprentice. His punctuality is exemplary; he consistently arrives early and demonstrates a strong work ethic. From the start, Kieran has shown an eagerness to learn and an exceptional ability to retain knowledge, as evidenced by his work logs and training diary. He takes initiative whenever possible, understands the fundamentals of machining thoroughly, and completes all tasks safely and efficiently. He is well deserving of this award.”
Kevin Stewart, Engineering Tutor at East Coast College and Paul Cutts, Engineering Assessor at East Coast College, have been vital partners in Kieran’s journey, offering excellent training and guidance.
Both are very pleased with Kieran’s progress, as Paul Cutts says:
“Kieran a pleasure to have on the course. He undertakes all the work given to him with enthusiasm and is equally at home with practical academic work, completing everything to a very high standard. His time keeping and attendance are exemplary, his employers are very pleased with his progress, he listens well, is attentive and has a very good work ethic. The work Kieran produces is above what you would see at this stage of the apprenticeship. Well done, Kieran.”
At Spectra Packaging, we are committed to nurturing talent and providing a supportive environment where apprentices can thrive. We have had many successful apprentices go on to have flourishing careers at Spectra. Kieran Hewitt’s success story is a shining example of what can be achieved through dedication, high-quality training, and a passion for engineering. We look forward to seeing Kieran’s continued growth and accomplishments in the years to come.
Congratulations, Kieran, on your outstanding achievement! Your future in engineering is incredibly bright, and we are proud to have you as part of the Spectra Packaging team.
