The Horner’s Award, jointly run by the British Plastics Federation and the Worshipful Company of Horners, recognises innovation in plastics design and manufacture or in the processing of polymers. The prestigious accolade is believed to be the longest established Design Award for Polymers in the world.
Illustrating what can be achieved by Spectra’s highly skilled in-house custom moulding team, the 250ml pack was also extrusion blow moulded in 100% post-consumer recycled HDPE for an environmental outcome.
Alex Beveridge, Field Sales Representative at Spectra who helped handle the Beached project said,
“We can offer nearly 300 off the shelf bottle and cap designs, however, customers sometimes need something totally unique to them. These individual designs are sure to help the Beached brand achieve that desired point of difference”.
This latest accolade is the second time the Beached pack has been singled out for recognition over recent weeks.
Earlier this month at the Packaging Innovations exhibition at Olympia in London, the Beached bottle was also selected as one of the twelve most innovative designs by an expert panel of judges. The pack had pride of place on the Innovation Showcase stand, where visitors could vote for their nominated packaging product.
Alex added,
“It is always hugely satisfying to receive recognition for the work we do for our valued customers. Our skilled staff, and in particular, our dedicated design and tooling experts, continually push the boundaries in innovative packaging and these distinctive containers are a testimony to that”.
